HOW TO MAKE A GODFATHER COCKTAIL
Total: 3 mins
Prep: 3 mins
Serving: 1 serving
Serve in a whiskey glass
As with many cocktails, the origin of the Godfather's name is uncertain. Perhaps the inspiration for this cocktail comes from Don Corleone, the eponymous character in Maria Puzo's best-selling novel, unforgettably portrayed in the film by Marlon Brando.
If you love whiskey, you need to try a classic Godfather cocktail. The Godfather is a nice and simple drink that is perfect for those times when you feel like mixing a good whiskey.
The amaretto softens the whiskey, but it is still a stiff drink that a tough guy (or gal) can sip slowly at the end of a hard day. Enjoy it with a dessert such as tiramisu, cheesecake, or baklava.
4-6 ice cubes
2 measures Scotch Whiskey
1 measure Amaretto
Fill a chilled whiskey glass with ice cubes.
Pour in the whiskey and amaretto and stir to mix.
Garnish with orange zest (Optional)
Tip: If you’d prefer a less-sweet cocktail, increase the scotch by 1-1/2 measures and reduce the amaretto to 1/2 measure.
Sip and enjoy it slowly!
