This addition to the JAN Homeware Collection is immensely practical and made from highly durable vitrified stoneware. It’s also a whimsical and fun addition to any crockery collection. The JAN Stackable Crockery Range is the perfect way to bring play to the kitchen; available in four colours and is microwave and dishwasher-safe.
"So often, that first flutter of inspiration for a new dish comes from the vessel. Even when I've made a dish a hundred times, plating it on a new surface can change the way I see that dish, often resulting in something completely new. I love contrasts. Sweet and savoury, heavy and light as a feather, light and dark … contrasts are bold, confident and sexy, which is perfectly captured in this new BlancNoir range." - Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen
Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen made history when, in 2016, he became South Africa’s first Michelin-star chef. His dishes at Restaurant JAN in the city of Nice, France, have since become characterised as culinary works of art that shine a light on South Africa’s rich heritage, transforming traditional fare into haute cuisine. On home turf, his culinary experience, Restaurant Klein JAN, explores the ingredients and traditional cookery of the arid Kalahari region, which are elevated to world class cuisine. Apart from his groundbreaking work as a chef, Jan Hendrik is also a photographer, publisher and broadcaster, and divides his time between France and South Africa. His new homeware range was born of his passion for creating beautiful experiences both in and around the kitchen.
